Do you or your family members have diabetes and you want to find the best way to manage blood sugars to improve the health of yourself or family member? If so, join this month's Food for Thought as we tackle a very important topic, managing blood sugar.The presenter will be Stacie Ellis, the Registered Dietitian at UTA, where she provides nutrition consultations and education for the students and staff on campus. Dr. Ellis is the proud owner of EXCELLIS Nutrition, a company geared towards performance nutrition, weight management, disordered eating, and medical nutrition therapy. Ellis serves as a consulting dietitian for Wellness Concepts, Health Fairs Direct, and American Health Assessments. She recently received her doctoral degree in nutrition with a minor in kinesiology at Texas Woman's University. Her dissertation involved comparing a high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet to a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet on performance in dancers. She has been interviewed with Women’s Health Magazine, The Oak Cliff Documentary, and Texas Metro News, and she also completed the Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management Program on June 4-6, 2015.
