Mentors play a vital role in graduate students’ success. This live online workshop will offer strategies for identifying mentors, as well as tips for establishing mentoring relationships that will help you achieve your goals in graduate school.

This is an opportunity to learn the basics about service learning and our university's community engagement initiative. We will discuss examples of service learning courses, learn how to connect with community agencies, learn effective methods of conducting student reflection, share ideas, and learn about new programs and initiatives. Curious minds are welcome; you don't need to be teaching with (or collaborating on) a service learning project in order to attend.Sponsored by the Center for Service Learning, this event is open to UTA faculty and staff. The conference will take place in the Bluebonnet Ballroom within the UTA University Center Thursday, January 30 and Friday, January 31. Breakfast, lunch, and parking are all included in registration fees.The 2025 TUCCCC theme is “Voices of Change,” and organizers are accepting proposals until Monday, December 2 . TUCCCC is excited to have Steffanie Grossman as this year’s keynote speaker. TUCCCC will have other college counseling professionals providing continuing education tailored for college populations. Featuring maps and charts dating from 1548 to 2024, the exhibit explores humanity's desire to explain our understanding of the universe through maps. In the exhibit, you will see maps that explore the model of the universe - from the ancients who believed in an Earth-centered system to Copernicus who put the Sun at the center, and beyond; maps of our Solar System and planetary bodies; and maps that explore Constellations and the Zodiac.Giveaways will be available while supplies last!The exhibit is located on the sixth floor of Central Library in Special Collections. Kick off Black History Month with NPHC. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Red River/Concho Room in the University Center.

College can be challenging, especially for neurodivergent students. Tuesday meet ups are a safe space for you to share your struggles if you'd like to, but if you don't want to speak you don't have to. Every other Monday we will incorporate a self care component like journaling, painting, making fidget toys, etc. We know self care is important, but sometimes it's hard to find the time or get yourself to actually do it. These meetings provide you a specific time and place to invest in a little self care. We discuss how our neurodivergencies affect our college experience.The group can provide advice, commentary, support, and encouragement. You can request any kind of specific feedback you'd prefer.All are welcome. Just join our organization and come on over. Attendance is not required for membership, but membership is needed to attend as a safety precaution for members who might share sensitive or vulnerable information during a meeting.
