- DescriptionIndigenous Peoples’ Day is a holiday that honors the history, culture, and ongoing contributions of Native and Indigenous Peoples, while also recognizing the resilience of communities who have survived colonization. It is a time for education, reflection, and celebration of Indigenous presence and voices. Since 2021, UTA has hosted an Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration at the Land Acknowledgement Courtyard.
This year, the Native American Student Association (NASA) will host an Indigenous Peoples’ Day “Teach-In” on campus. The event will take place from 12-4 p.m. This will be a simple and welcoming educational space open to everyone.
Throughout the event, professors, local Native community members, and NASA students will rotate as speakers and facilitators. Each session will focus on Indigenous history, culture, and contemporary issues.
All are welcome to attend. - Websitehttps://events.uta.edu/event/indigenous-peoples-day-teach-in
