Fall Opener On Tap For UTA Women’s Golf

Lawrence, Kan. – The UT Arlington women's golf team will begin its 2025-26 season in Kansas at the two-day Jayhawk Invitational beginning Sunday, August 24 from The Jayhawk Club in Lawrence, Kansas.
 
This event will mark the first time the Mavericks have competed in the two-day event.
 
UTA will begin the year with the following five-player lineup based off season-opening qualifying:

5) Kamri Gabel

Both days will commence with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start

INSIDE THE LINEUP
Tarini Bhoga

  • Bhoga ended the 2024-25 season with a 76.1 scoring average that was highlighted by a low-round 69 which came from the ULM Invitational (Mar. 31 – Apr. 1). The sophomore tabbed a T-10 finish back at Missouri State's Ozarks National Invitational (Mar. 24-26).

Chandler Browning

  • Did not compete in the 2024-25 season as a transfer from North Texas. Saw action in two of the Mean Green's 10 events during the 2023-24 season where she had a season stroke average of 75.50.
Nitisha Manikandesh
  • UTA's top performer in five of 11 events a season ago, Manikandesh held a scoring average of 76.0 across 32 rounds. Turned in her best performance of the season at the WAC Championships (April 14-16) where she finished third overall where she logged rounds of 71-70-75. Ended the season with 11 rounds of even par or better which was the top mark on the team.

Salome Arango

  • Arango will make her Mavericks debut this week as she transferred in from Texas Wesleyan, where she earned All-Conference honors her senior and junior year. She tabbed four top three finishes while playing in 11 tournaments her final year at Texas Wesleyan.

Kamri Gabel

  • Competed in all 11 events for UTA across 32 rounds a season ago. Gabel tabbed a scoring average of 77.2 and collected seven rounds of even par or better. She tied for third at Utah Valley's Wigwarm Preview (Feb. 2-4) with rounds of 76-72-72.

 
NEXT UP
UTA will be off for about one month before returning to action at Texas Tech's Red Raider Invitational. The two-day event will take place on September 23-24 at The Rawls Course in what is the Mavs first time playing at Tech's home course.
