That 2-2 tie turned into a 4-2 UT Arlington lead in the fifth. The Mavericks added two to their tally on McNulty's two-run homer to left.
UT Arlington kept the Redhawks scoreless before their offense got things rolling the next inning. The Mavericks pushed across a run on Maldonado's two-out solo dinger off sophomore Avari Morris, bringing the score to 5-2 in favor of UT Arlington.
