UTA Student-Athletes Shine in the Classroom in Latest NCAA APR Report
ARLINGTON, Texas – Being successful on the field of play begins with success in the classroom, and UT Arlington student-athletes continue to showcase their strong academic performance, as evidenced by the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate report, which was announced this week.
The Academic Progress Rate (APR) holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete each semester.
"Our student-athletes have done a great job of competing and excelling in the classroom," said UTA Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jon Fagg. "Academic success is the foundation which leads to championship outcomes, and they continue to solidify that core for future accomplishments. We congratulate our student-athletes, and thank our support staff and coaches for their efforts in achieving another Team UTA win."
In the multi-year report which spans four years, four UTA programs registered perfect scores of 1,000 – men's tennis, women's golf, men's tennis and women's volleyball.
In addition to the four teams noted above with perfect scores over the multi-year report, six more are all above 970 – softball (985), baseball (976), men's cross country (975), men's track and field (973), women's cross country (973), men's golf (971).
For the 2023-24 academic year, eight UTA programs recorded perfect scores of 1,000 – men's cross country, men's golf, men's tennis, men's track and field, women's cross country, women's golf, women's tennis and women's volleyball.
