- Dec 1112:00 PMOpen Textbook WorkshopOpen textbooks can alleviate the burden of educational costs for students and provide faculty with content that can be customized for their courses. Open textbooks are full, real textbooks, used by many faculty across the country, including here at UTA. They are licensed to be freely used, edited, and distributed. Many are also accompanied by customizable slides, test banks, and other supplemental materials.After the workshop, you’ll be asked to write a short review of an open textbook from the Open Textbook Library. Your review will benefit other faculty considering open textbooks, and you’ll receive a $200 stipend for your participation and written review. Everyone is welcome to attend the workshop, but only University employees classified as faculty are eligible to receive a stipend.An RSVP is recommended to attend this event. Lunch will be provided.

The overall objective of this webinar is to give you tools that can help you be more competitive for research dollars and win grants from the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and other related entities. You will hear about how to engage the DoD, what kinds of research they are interested in, and how the system works and should come away with a realistic understanding of how to work toward these funding opportunities.About The Confay Group Through providing insight into agency interests and priorities, facilitating relationships with program managers and collaborators, and shaping research ideas, TCG helps support research from early-stage discovery work to large clinical and translational studies.
