- Sep 1712:00 PMGilman Scholarship Information SessionThe U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program supports students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad. The Gilman Program is a competitive, merit-based scholarship, with awards of up to $5,000. To be eligible for the Gilman Program, applicants must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program or internship.During this session, the UTA Study Abroad Office will share information about the application process, and the support available to help you through the process. In collaboration with the UTA Honors College, additional workshops will be offered to help you complete your application. Come by to learn how the Gilman can support your study abroad adventure!

How can we better prepare students to succeed working in teams?In this interactive workshop, you’ll explore a practical, research-based activity you can integrate into any discipline to help students develop essential team communication skills. Drawing on Daniel Goleman’s emotional intelligence framework and Patrick Lencioni’s model of effective teams, the session will offer both strategies and methods to enhance team dynamics in your classroom.Participants will walk away with a ready-to-use assignment or in-class activity designed to improve team performance and student outcomes.This session is hybrid. Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees.
